Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the ease of use, quality, and design of the Optical Mouse as significant strengths. Many appreciate its compatibility with Apple products and the comfortable feel. However, some users point to issues with battery life, the wired connection, and the scroll wheel's functionality. A shorter-than-ideal cord length was also a recurring concern for some customers.

    Awkward

Just didn't feel right in my hand. Access to right side button very awkward for right handed person and I'd guess the reverse for a lefty. I wish they had one on display before purchasing. I would have selected an alternate. I hoped it would work like a Windows based 3 Button Mouse but just wasn't the same.

This mouse sucks. What more can I say?

I've been a mac user for a decade now. I have to be if I want to continue making money (video editor, graphic designer). I've been generally satisfied with every product I've bought from them (PowerMac, iPhone, iPod, etc.), but this mouse is terrible. It came with the PowerMac I purchased a couple years ago. It was fine at first, but eventually the ball would only scroll in one direction. I'm assuming it's because it was "gunked up" inside. Then the left and right mouse buttons would get mixed up because there's literally only one big piece of plastic for the button(s). I understand Apple wants their products to look very sleek and simplistic, but this mouse is garbage. But it's not only garbage, it's OVERPRICED garbage. Do yourself a favor, get a Logitech M100. It cost me a mere $11 and I have no complaints about it. I wish there were an option to give this 0 stars...or negative stars.

OEM Apple product. Batteries ruined my wireless mouse, so I went back to old school. So what if there's a cord? Besides, it can't be misplaced!

This came with my imac and to tell the truth I really dont like it. I always end up squeezing the sides of the mouse and that ends up bringing me to a new page. Like when im playing half life 2. I am clicking a whole lot and then something intense happens and I squeez it and a menu pops up and I die. Also the scrol wheel is very odd to use. It broke about 2 months after we got it. Also it has no right click! and it gets annoying pressing command click all the time.

Mouse jumps - went back to my Logitech mouse

After using the mouse for a very short time I noticed the mouse would sometime jump to a different location on the screen. After a couple of days it just became too annoying, so I did some searching, and found some suggestions of 'moving electronics around to avoid interference', instead I decided to just go back to my Logitech mouse, which works as you would expect a mouse to work (and is half the price)

The Apple Optical Mouse is very responsive to the slightest motion making it easy to use. If the cord wasn't so short I would give it a higher rating but the short cord really impedes freedom of movement. I would recommend it for left handed but not for right handed users.

It's a wonderful mouse, however - plan on buying a few of them, as when the rollerball gets gunked up after about a year, with no way to clean them - they are unfortunately throw-away.

I got this mouse to replace the original Optical Mouse that came with my computer. Sadly after a couple of years of use, the trackball gets stuck, which is why I replaced it. Works well so far.

    Hilariously overpriced

This mouse is terrible. We use them in the office, around 15 of them, each between one and three years old. Not a single one has a trackball that consistently scrolls in every direction. When I saw $49.99 at Best Buy I thought someone switched the price tag with something else's as a joke. This mouse is not worth $49.99. This mouse would not be worth $49.99 if it was priced two for one and came with a bottle of scotch. But it isn't, and doesn't; all it includes is hand cramps and sorrow. Ergonomically, it appears to be designed primarily for dogs and people wearing mittens. Seriously, do not buy this mouse. If it came with your computer and yours stopped working and you're looking to replace it, DO NOT replace it with the same thing that stopped working. For the same price at the same store you can get one of those pointy wireless 6400 dpi gaming mice with like a million buttons on the side. Or you can buy a totally normal (but wireless!) mouse that's more comfortable and costs a fifth as much. Also, "it doesn't require a mouse pad" has not been a relevant advantage for a mouse since like 2002.

I purchased this mouse because it shows the Magic Mouse in the photo. It is not the correct photo. I called Best Buy and told them this listing was wrong a week ago, and it is still not fixed, so I wanted to let other customers know not to fall for the photo.

Every MacPro I've bought or used, the included mouse gets discarded to the storage box; backup mouse. The low profile and slick smooth surface makes for stressful and fatiguing day; If the mouse was $20.00 all is forgiven. Apple's worst offending design is the little scroll ball, can not be cleaned or serviced and onced gummed up with dirt, throw it away; cleaning it only pushes the debris to another part of the mechanism. If your Apple mouse has died and need replacing get a unit made by dedicated peripheral accessories company or Logitech.
