remember, it does not work on new mac book pros because it has no IR receiver.

Function as good as my original. No set up required just open and it will work.

I bought this as a replacement for one I lost; works great, "reasonable" price

I'm not sure why this was bundled with the Macbook Air that I purchased. This didn't work with my Mac with the powerpoint slides I was trying to present. I don't even think it paired because it had infrared and the mac didn't had an input or that. Looked cool though.

But they seem to wear out very fast and it is not the battery!

Was told by a Best Buy Geek that this would most certainly work with my iMac. Even walked him over to the computer I have and asked him again and the answer was unequivocally YES! When I couldn't get it to pair..I googled only to find out there is no ir transmitter in the Macs built in 2012 or later. Boo Best Buy Geek! I will google ALL information next time instead of assume these kids know what they are talking about. OH and I was 1 day late past the 15 days to return and they would NOT refund or return for in store credit. Now I have a remote I can't use! Thanks Best Buy!

My used apple tv didn't come with a remote and I picked this one up at Best Buy. The simplicity was nice but the ergonomics was not. My fingers kept wanting to slip off the buttons. Fortunately, you can connect other IR remotes to the apple tv.

I found this difficult to use. But i doubt it was defective in any way.. I just don't think the technology was a good match for what I needed at the time.

We've replaced so many of these remotes before finally just giving up and buy the previous white remote. I believe it's the A1156. It works better and has lasted way longer than any of the silver remotes. The buttons get stuck far too often and eventually just stop working. Haven't had that problem with the white remote. Constantly having to replace these remotes will eventually become costly. So spare yourself the headache and get the A1156 version. They work with both the old and new apple tv's.
