I just wanted something to protect the glass when I transport my iPad. The Smart Cover handles that duty and also provides a way to prop up the iPad when I'm typing something like this review with an external keyboard. Doesn't add too much bulk or weight. Easy to attach and stays put. But as a chronic fiddler, my favorite feature is the magnets that keep the cover opened. It's oddly satisfying to pull the cover slightly away from the back of the iPad and let it snap back in place. Over and over and over. And maybe one or two more times after that. The only minor downside is the iPad does seem to run a little warmer with the cover opened because the aluminum back ends up insulated. Seems like that would be true with any cover, though.

And put back on with the same effort Smart Cover is strong enough to protect glass It doubles as a stand and/or can be put into and keyboard position for typing. The Smart Cover is magnetic and puts your Ipad to sleep. when closed... so you don't have to wear out your button and/or wait for auto sleep to kick in as it eats your battery up.. And wakes when opened.. Smart Cover also piggy backs on the back of iPad when folded to the back and is held in place magnetically.. this a great feature for reading as it keeps the Smart Cover from slip sliding around in your hands. It actual is a pretty Smart Cover for basic every day needs.

I have to review the case and cover together. I would never buy or use one without the other. After a few weeks this seems like the best iPad case and cover yet. Fits well, not too bulky, and I like love the magnetic auto power off/on. One nice feature relative to prior models, the magnet holds the Smart Cover open no mater the orientation, even in landscape mode with the open edge up. Minor concern, it is a little lard to grasp the edge to open the cover and I am worried that struggling to open it may eventually lead to premature separation of the two surfaces of the cover. At this point, no issues though. I would definitely purchase again.

Perfect fit... nice color.. and light weight. a little overpriced

This case is light, easy to attach to my iPad and the texture is wonderful. Some cases are slippery or bulky but this case is not. It barely adds to the size of the iPad. It has protected my iPad through two drops so far and for that it was worth the price. I did pair it with the back cover so that adds to the protection. Great product!

A nice alternative to the keyboard cover. A bit pricy for silicone. Only covers the screen.

New to the Apple world,but this case is awesome using for almost 7 month. It been protecting my screen and stationing my iPad for watching movie. Only thing that suck is since I work in the auto industry, small metal shaving attracted to the case due to the magnet field generated from the case, and would scratch the iPad. I would avoid taking this case near any place with metal shaving.

I had this cover on another device and was pleased with it. So easy to use, just put it in place, and when you open the cover, your device turns on. Close the cover, and it's off. Great, light weight protection for your screen. And it looks good too!

The Apple Smart Cover protects the screen but is light weight and easy to remove or attach magnetically. Wish Apple would find a way to attach the Apple Pencil magnetically or a place to store on the cover. A little pricey for a screen cover.

This is Really great cover for the iPad Pro 9.7. The color is really cool (Charcoal Gray). It fits and works perfectly with the matching silicone back cover...together they make the best slim protection available.

This cover fits my iPad pro perfectly. It's pricey but worth it. I haven't had to think about it once since I put it on. It feels great and is durable. I think it's the best quality cover out there.

I like being able to use my iPad Pro with as little cumbersome casing as possible. This cover protects the screen, acts as a good stand when needed, and can be easily removed when not needed.

I have no complains because it does what I should do. Covers the glass to protect it and folds up so you can use it as a stand. A little expensive but I know it will work with the iPad Pro.

I've always used Apple Smartcases for my iPads, but the new iPad pro doesn't appear to have that option from apple for the foreseeable future. The only way to gain full protection on the iPad pro is through the purchase of the iPad Shell and a separate Smart Cover. It doesn't help that the new iPad Pro 9.7" has slightly different magnets, rendering the older iPad Air Smart Covers obsolete and unusable. That said, the Smart Cover for the new iPad Pro feels great, works well and the Charcoal Black is a very nice looking color.

This front cover fits really well and is very easy to open. It does a great job of protecting the screen of my ipad.

It works great with the back cover which is priced separatelyand it is over priced but it does protect the ipad 9.7

Love this cover. Fits well with the the matching back cover. Light weight and attractive. Pretty pink color.

Being an Apple-produced product, one would hope it works well with the 9.7" iPad Pro, which it does. It fits like a glove (does not add a great deal of bulk to the iPad), provides a minimal level of protection for the iPad, and works well with the onboard magnets to turn the iPad screen on and off. I am sure there are less expensive options available now from third parties, but I am happy with this case and see no reason to make a change.

I've had 4 Ipad models over the years and I've always like the smart cover. This one is no exception - well made, light, and comfortable. An interesting fact is that you CANNOT use an iPad Air cover on the iPad pro - they have reversed the magnets. What I do like is the magnets in this cover and the iPad Pro 9.7 are much stronger than previous models, so this cover stays in place much more firmly than previous editions.
