I made that mistake! Had to exchange for this Apple. SOOO quiet compared to the cheaper brand. Absolutely recommend this without any hesitation.

Just plug in and use nothing to install. I was a bit mad that a 2000 dollar MacBook doesn't include a disc drive but oh welll.

I need to burn DVDs so this is a great choice. Because it is Apple brand it is easy to update the firmware. On many 3rd party drives you must update on a PC. Good luck with that

Honestly don't know why I bought this. Only used it once and it worked good. So no complaints about it just takes up space.

Worked but not in the way I needed it too. This is a cool add-on for your MacBook but unfortunately DVD’s is a thing of the past. You will use it but not often.

This was a great purchase for my Mac since they do not come with disk drives. Haven't had any problems with it. Apple has never let me down when it comes to their products.

The new dell laptop didn't come with a dvd build in, so I bought this. Works great would buy it again.

I bought this to transfer all my CD's to flash drives since I don't have a CD player. I transferred over 100 songs and now can enjoy my music whenever I like.

I enjoy apple products but they are just so expensive. I wasn't planning on purchasing this product until my class required us to watch a dvd for some of the lessons..

This external device is nice and can be removed and stored away from the computer when not in use but is nice looking and okay to leave hooked up to the computer all the time.

I’m sure it is good. I returned it and I have an Apple computer and would need an android adapter. This would have made the price closer to an Apple driver and an additional piece of equipment.

I stayed in the Apple yard with this purchase. There was no problem hooking up and being able to read a couple dvds.

Fast and reliable. Needed it to work with research data CDs on a Mac without a drive and this did the trick.

Plugged right in and works great. Only downside is you have to use at a desk or table top to support but it's not an issue for me considering it's only used once in awhile

If you spend the bucks for something like a MacBookPro, don't be cheap with additional hardware, go with consistency and compatibility, peace of mind is worth the extra cost.,

This super drive works seamlessly with my mac book pro. It's a necessity for me since I still play and record D.V.D's and C.D's from my library.

My Apple external drive was a life saver so I could do my taxes. It was the only way I could my Turbo Tax CD.

The portable, external DVD player/burner requires no set up, plays DVDs with ease, and is a solid made device. It provides good value for the money spent. Happy I made the purchase.

It's nice having my all in one iMac. But adding this drive topped it off. I find it easier for uploading from discs than the internet. And I found it easy to burn both DVDs and CDs.

As sleek and simple as all Apple products, with one minor drawback: eject function only available on-screen (no physical eject button) which is not that intuitive; otherwise does its job
