I would much prefer to have this built - in but it is lightweight and it's functional for what it says it does. Haven't had any issues and it's compatible with my laptop.

The disk drive has worked well for me. I looked online at bestbuy first saw it. Then about a week later bestbuy sent a discount on the item. I've been happy with it.

Coming from a HP PC with a built in optical drive, I felt I had to have a DVD/CD drive for my new iMac desktop. Since the newer iMacs don't have a built in drive, I decided I'd try this one. It works as expected, and I'm happy with it.

Well 1st of all, it's an Apple product which I'm a fan of. I see what they did, they took the cd/dvd drive out of the laptop and made it so u have to purchase an external if u want to burn movies or music cd's. Clever for business purposes but annoying. But nonetheless its a great product.

Very simple to set up.I was disappointed that the DVD wasn't included with the new Apple iMac but his is an easy solution.

Purchased item due to IMac not having a drive. Easy set up. Just plug and use. Mac product tend to be more reliable.

The Apple dvd/cd ripper/player functions beautifully, installs easily and is another "Best Buy!" Do not hesitate to fulfill your need with this fine piece of hardware!

i bought this external drive to work with my IMac and it works great. Very easy to install. Fast burning device and great compatibility with my computer.

It is easy to use and install but it is unfortunate that apple doesn't include an option for it to be installed on the iMac. All Apple's computers are now eliminating the DVD player. I see the point on a laptop but not on a desktop.

It works great with my MacBook Pro... I had thought about buying an lg because it was less expensive but I'm glad I didn't

Works seamlessly with my iMac which does not have an integrated cd-rom/DVDs drive. Plug and play without any installation.

For the money. it's worth it! A hard drive is a must have in every business. I can burn all my files onto a disk and store them for later review or upload them off the disk when needed.Downside, The hard drive is external and takes up dest space. You'll have to make allowance for. It would be nice if it had some kind of external mounting bracket you could use that could be mounted at the bottom of the computer that keeps the hard drive off the desk and on the computer incase of coffee spills and less clutter.

We still need the optical drive so kids can watch DVDs on trips. This one gets the job done. We have two of these and no issues with either. They are light and compact.

I bought this for someone who was just starting using an iPad, and had no mechanism for adding music to her computer, save, purchasing from iTunes. This drive filled the bill perfectly.

I have a large cd music collection. Apple no longer has superdirves available Sox I checked with Best Buy to have a current one with my new Mac mini

External CD/DVD drive was easy to install and use, though required another cord for the imac

Since the new Apple desktop computers have no CD drive build in, this is the best you can get and easy to use. It is slim and fits right on the stand and out of the way.

The external drive has been great. I had some trouble at the beginning because I wasn't up to speed on my software version. So once I upgraded it this drive was easy and quick to operate. Just had a bump in the road but it has saved me from buying another computer.
