Most of the software and content people will need can be obtained from the internet however, it would have been nice to have it Blue-ray compatible. Paired with an Apple computer and the Thunderbolt monitor playing DVD's will have a grainy appearance. It's compact size is a big plus.

I wanted an external Blu-Ray for my MacBook Pro but LG and Pioneer drives didn't work. With the USB A to USB C, the Apple DVD drive worked like a dream.

I have several DVD and CD's I've collected through the years, and needed a drive to watch them. I have not used it for TAX, will wait and see.

Love this drive. Easy to install and easy to use. Didn't think I would use it much but have used it a lot since I got it. Great addition to the new Apple products in my household.

This device is great, the cable is a little short but that can easily be remedied with an extension cable if needed. For laptop users though the cable is probably the ideal length. The design is impeccable - it's compact, made of aluminum not cheap plastic like the other brands I've seen and like any other Apple product that I've ever owned it just works! Over and over and over again it just works... I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one if I ever need to.

Perfect external drive. Just wish it had a manual eject button.

I bought this to play old family movies that were converted to DVD many (many) years ago. Easy install and easy to use.

Bought this so that I can view some files that I had on CD. If you have a MAC I would recommend that you get one of these.

Great little device, compact and portable. Looks and works great with my Mac Mini and MacBook Air. No issues with this device at all.

Always an easy set up with Apple products. I only wish there was one that came with my imac.

I love this because I can store it in a drawer and only get it out when I want to use it to upload something off of a disc or burn something, etc.

This product completely lived up to expectations and was perfect for what I needed. Price shopped around before buying it and found the best price here.

It works well as expected on macbook pro of 2016, but it did not work on macbook pro 2012 (which I guess is understandable). I got by without USB adapter due to my laptop being three years old. Overall, it was a good investment.

For those times when you still need an optical drive, this is an easy one to use. Powers right over the USB which makes it vey convenient.

works exactly as intended, has bought another brand from Walmart for less and had to return it, Best Buy had the exact item for the exact equipment I have.

this optical drive has a very slick design and works as intended. Meant to be used for Apple Computers. Have never had a problem with this Optical Drive

I bought this as an add-on to a new Mac desktop. It's great! Super compact so it doesn't take up much room on my desk. I've already used it to download lots of photos!
