Very reliable, well-built product that works excellent with Mac OS. Reads and plays CD's and DVD's flawlessly.

I still use some CDs and manual install software. Thought I would need to configure it to work. Gotta say, I just plugged it into my MacBook Pro and it worked! WoW!

Since the new computer is so slim & doesn't have a slot on the side for a disk, this External super drive is nice & neat and sits out of the way .Works well.

Even with everything in the cloud, I still want to work with CDs or DVDs occasionally. This external hard drive does the job, and looks good attached to my MacBook. It supports double-layer DVDs, which can fit 8.5 GB of data. Perfect for backing up photos, videos, music and important documents. I've had hard drives and flash drives fail after a few years, but discs can last for decades. Chances are the data you burn to a disc will live longer than you will. Two small quibbles: no blu-ray, and the USB cord is rather short.

This was a gift for a non-computer oriented user. Recipient was able to install and use the drive with no problems and loves it. Drive is also attractive and easily portable.

Works as advertised, use it mainly for burning CD's. I like that it is external, and is portable. Highly recommend.

I had to get a new MacBook...they no longer have a disk drive. I guess we are moving away from disk/cd use/storage and this is another way for Apple to keep taking more of my money (luckily, I got it when it was marked down/on sale). The new MacBooks cost the same or more, but without the disk drive/memory card & USB ports. Do I really need it? To tell you the truth...I have a few CDs that I still need to transfer to my iTunes library (that I pay Apple to store in the cloud for me). After that, it'll probably never get used again. Don't buy one...Borrow a friend's.

I bought the 13" macbook pro which does not include a DVD drive. So I bought the Apple - SuperDrive 8x External USB Double-Layer DVD RW/CD-RW Drive because I needed to move over 1000 pictures from my old 15" mac to my new 13" mac. The external DVD drive is so easy to install and so easy to use. I never had to question anything nor did I have to refer to the instruction manual. This is a perfect way to keep the weight off the 13" mac especially if one has to travel with a computer!!!

I needed a new Drive for my computer. This was the perfect choice. It is compact and works great with my Apple laptop. It is super easy to easy as well.

Bought this so that I can view some files that I had on CD. If you have a MAC I would recommend that you get one of these.

I purchased this drive after purchasing a non brand. The non brand stopped working after a month. The Apple super drive hasn't given any problems. No need to disconnect everyday or worried it won't open when disk is ejected. This is a great item to have

I don't use a disc drive often but sometimes you do need to use it and since the new MacBooks don't have the drives built in, I picked this up. It's worked great!

Purchased for my new M1 Mac and it works as advertised. I use in conjunction with the Apple adapter.
