Recently upgraded my iMac to a MacBook Pro and bought this for when the need arises. Burned a few music CD's to test the product and works perfectly. Just plug and play, it's that easy. Just what you would expect from an Apple product. Easy to use, looks great and it just works.

Nice design looks like rest of computer Vital for accessing disk based software such as TurboTax and all of stuff you store offline. Fast clean quiet and takes no space at all Apple should just put it right in the computer package in my opinion. Great interface for non stick drive or different system info as well as using old but good software on disks.

I have a Macbook Pro w/retina display laptop that does not have a dvd burner/optical drive so I purchased this portable unit and it works absolutely perfect. I like burning DVD's that I create using iMovie, I realize the technology is getting away from creating DVD's but I enjoy it still.

Overpriced BUT it works great and looks even better.

It is really fast and quick for burning cds off of your mac in just under 5 minutes! It reads the discs really quickly just like a flashdrive! Overall solid buy if you need something for cds or DVDs on your computer if it doesn't have a built in one! Also very portable!

Overall, it's great and easy to use. Just plug it in to one USB port (some external drives need more than one port and also need to be powered externally through an outlet) and it automatically come up for use on the computers' desktop. It seems faster than my previous drive, but it's difficult to compare, because everything on a Mac is faster compared to a PC.

I had to get this for my new iMac which does not come with a disc drive. I also have a MacBook Pro that has a disc drive that stopped working. I havnt had a chance to fix it yet and was hoping the new disc drive i bought would work, however, the superdrive only works on macs that do not have a disc drive built in. Very disapointed in this feature. On the plus side the drive works extremely well. Very fast and very easy to use and install.

Best apple CD and DVD drive ever!!! Very much recommendable this allows your computer that does not already bring a CD or DVD drive to be used and plugged in with one Very seamless all you do is put in that CD or DVD and it works flawless

Sleek, stylish and easy to use. I recently purchased this external CD drive and it does exactly what's is supposed to, play CD and run programs on my laptop. The only downside is that this drive did not come with an adapter for type C connections for a newer modle Macbook, bummer.

Worked as soon as I plugged it into my Mac. It's as slim and compact as you can get. Looks nice on my desktop. The only thing I wish is that the cord were a bit longer. It's about 12" long but since you have to plug it into the back of the Mac it limits your placement.

the apple superdrive eternal dvd/cd drive is a simple easy to use product that helps me to burn cds from my itunes collection without any problems i recommend this product to anyone looking for an external drive

It is a shame that computers no longer include disc drives, But then, I owned my iMac for about a year before I needed a disc drive. I prefer Apple/Mac products so this was the only drive I considered. I read the reviews saying the drive would not accept the disc, but I thought mine would be different. It wasn't. The drive didn't grab the disc and hold it in. The issue was easily resolved. I call Apple Tech support and was directed unplug the power cord for several seconds, reinsert the cord, then start the computer with the drive plugged in to the USB port. It worked. I think of it this way: the computer has to recognize what is attached when it turns on. How can the drive work with the computer if the computer doesn't know it's there? In a perfect world, this information would be included in the user guide. Since I rarely need a CD rive, I was glad I was able to use my points to reduce the cost. All that being said, the drive works well. I installed software, imported music from CDs easily. I plan to upgrade my laptop soon, and I'm glad I already own the drive I will need.
