I had to get a new MacBook...they no longer have a disk drive. I guess we are moving away from disk/cd use/storage and this is another way for Apple to keep taking more of my money (luckily, I got it when it was marked down/on sale). The new MacBooks cost the same or more, but without the disk drive/memory card & USB ports. Do I really need it? To tell you the truth...I have a few CDs that I still need to transfer to my iTunes library (that I pay Apple to store in the cloud for me). After that, it'll probably never get used again. Don't buy one...Borrow a friend's.

Prefect CD player/ writer for beginner/ immediate users. Alot of cd device that are much better, but unless your into gaming or flash to bang results the Apple cd device is prefect for day to day use. In my case every other week use.

It just melts into my desktop area taking hardly any room and looking great. Love its sleek look and easy use and installation.

Since the new computer is so slim & doesn't have a slot on the side for a disk, this External super drive is nice & neat and sits out of the way .Works well.

Easy to use. Burns CD's well. Have had no problems. Must buy a USB-A to USB-C adapter if you have a newer Mac.

The SuperDrive works perfectly. My son's Dvds work great on it and he uses it for his math lessons.

Amazingly fast performance for an external drive. I keep it on my desk and plug it in on the rare occasion (once a month maybe) that I need to burn or read a CD or DVD.

Unfortunately, Apple made the move away from CD drives in their laptops. Thankfully their external drive is slim and easily portable.
