If you have a Macbook that doesn't have a disc drive, this is what you are looking for. The first time I purchased this item, I received a dud. It sounded like it was scratching the discs that I put in, and it had trouble reading. But this wasn't an issue as I returned it and got another that worked just fine. It would be five stars, but the usb connection is permanently attached to the drive. It would be preferable to have an option of different usb connections.

Exactly as it seems

If thrown hard enough it could probably defend you in case of home invasion, but that's not what they designed it for apparently.

Perfect companion to the Apple

Perfect add-on to iMac

I first used my wife's old USB CD Drive which was slow, had errors and was crashing. I replaced her old CD drive with Apple's SuperDrive. It was fast and has never crashed. Even reads of the scratched CDs that weren't being read by the old CD drive. My old scratched AC/DC was being read by the Apple Disc Drive that I couldn't play anymore on my stereo.
