Other branded adapter would not allow the MacBook to recognize the drive.

Great accessory for MacBook Air

Just plug it in and it works. And like all Apple products, it's stylish, too! If it worked with BlueRay disks I would have rated it 5 stars.

It's small size is convent for travel to 20th century friends and family.
