This Apple - SuperDrive 8x External USB Double-Layer DVD±RW/CD-RW Drive - Silver is a convenient way to burn photos / music or video to cd's or dvd's. It's compact size makes it a great portable to share with other Mac computers or laptops.

Picked this up to transfer photos to disk mainly and so far it has worked great and without any issues. It was simple to set up (connect to USB) and was up and running in just seconds. I don't know why I hadn't got one long ago. Perfect addition to the iMac.

What can I say, you plug it in with the included cord and the computer sees it and you go. Has read any disc I have put in. I thought it would be a hassle that the computer didn't have a built in drive but I found that I feel that way at all. Great accessory.

I bought his drive to work with my new MacBook Pro. Took it out of the box and plugged in the USB cable and was up and running. The unit runs extremely quite, compared to previous laptop DVD drives. Loads and ejects CDs smoothly and quietly. It's definitely a top quality drive.

This DVD drive was a must for me. Same color as iMac and fits the base of the computer perfect. Like it was made for the iMac. The DVD drive is very fast and with no buttons, it all runs off the keyboard. Don't know why their were some bad reviews. This Superdrive is really great!

Does it's thing without issue. Slim profile so it doesn't get in the way.

This external disc drive works as it should. Easy to install. Why did Apple stop building their IMacs without the drive? I wish that had not happened and had to purchase the drive a la carte, which was annoying. It works just fine, but the extra expense is an issue with me.

I recently needed to get some CDs downloaded to my computer so I recently purchased this unit so that I could do that. I found that it works exceptionally well and it is very user friendly. The transfers were very quick and no corruption occurred. I would highly recommend this unit.

Love being able to put CDs and dvds. Use it a lot. My only complaint is that you have to eject whatever is inside by the computer. Not a huge deal but it would be nice to have had an eject button. Super easy to install, literally for us was plug and go!

Still have a foot in physical media for music, so I purchased this to back up some of my old beloved CDs.. So far, it's been a solid performer for the last year. I generally rip to losses with error correction. It may be a tad slow, but I'd rather just do it once and get the high quality backup with fewer errors. Playback has been great as.

Typical Apple-quality product. Simple design and easy to use. The disc does need to be pushed almost the entire way into the drive for it to take it, and there are no buttons on the unit. Works as it should. Not too much else to say. If you need it - buy it.

I was worried at first, because of the other reviews, but it worked perfectly. I took a chance on the fact that maybe the other's computers were just not compatible. I have a MacBook Pro with Retina Dispay. All I do is plug in the USB; easy and convenient!

The SuperDrive works great and is easy to use. No installation of any software is needed to use the device. It works great with my MacBook Air and I would recommend it to anyone. The only thing I don't like about it is the price. $75 is a little steep. But then again, its an Apple product, and its great quality, so what do you expect?

This CD/DVD drive is incredible. AllI have to do is plug the USB into my MacBook Air and it's ready to go. It burns CDs from iTunes and DVDs more quickly than the drive in my MacBook does. It's fantastic. I love it.

When I bought my iMac, I thought life without a drive would be pretty lonely. However after purchasing this SuperDrive, I feel much better. Super easy to set up and using it regularly to rip CDs into my music library. Very good purchase!

I love this thing if you have a cd or something that you need to view on your computer , this is the best way to do it.

I recently purchased the Apple Superdrive to use with my new MacBook Pro. Compared to the a large, heavy Superdrive I used with an iMac, this little beauty is tiny and very easy to use. So far I've only used it to download software. It did a great job.

It’s a bummer that most new computers don’t come with a disc drive. This one not only works really well with my iMac, it blends in really well since they are all the same material. I have it sitting on the bottom stand of the iMac.
