It’s a bummer that most new computers don’t come with a disc drive. This one not only works really well with my iMac, it blends in really well since they are all the same material. I have it sitting on the bottom stand of the iMac.

I wanted extreme portability in new computer but need DVD drive to help with auditory problems with DVDs shown through TV. SuperDrive is ideal answer. Matches computer and is trim and requires no additional outlet. Easy and ready to use when needed.

Purchased the DVD drive so I could play and burn media. The Apple Drive was plug and play. Works great with my new iMac. Keyboard eject works and so does the Apple DVD player. Time will tell how long it will last, but so far it is great.

I bought this super-drive for my new I mac and my wife Macbook air. Neither machine has a built in optical drive. This little guy works flawlessly. Simple plug and play, and when connected via USB 3.0 it works at speeds rivaling a built in drive.

This drive works perfectly every time. We've never had any issues with it. You just plug it in and thats it, no software or drivers to install. It's really thin also so it travels easily inside a laptop bag. I use it for my slim iMac and my MacBook Air.

This was purchased for my MacBook and it was so easy to use. No issues with compatibility, plug and play. The con is that it is external and have to connect each time want to use but worth it if used a lot.

The build quality is excellent! It is 100% compatible with my Mac. That being said, other external DVD drives are anywhere from $15 - $35 on average less expensive than this drive. Like many Apple peripherals, they seem pricey compared to their non-Apple counterparts. Maybe I am just paying for the piece of mind that it will always be absolutely compatible with my Mac.

The Apple - SuperDrive 8x External USB Double-Layer DVD RW/CD-RW Drive is easy to install and works right out of the box. Like all Apple procucts it is sleek and attractive, and very easy to install. It is not a required add-on, but really nice to have.

I love this item. It is small, sleek, and perfect size to fit in my computer bag. Easy to operate and works well with the newest MacBook.

Plugged it in and started using my turbo tax without any complications. I haven't tried to burn any files but look forward to trying that soon. Little pricey but worth it.

My daughter received her MAC just before going off to college. She did not have a DVD player and needed it for her theater class and sign language. The 'add on' unit is amazing. Small size but powerful on performance.

The newer IMacs don't come with a USB Drive to read discs so you will need an external one. That being said, the external drive connected fine to the iMac and works good The sale price at Best Buy was better than the Apple store price.

Apple products are always a little pricey, but never let you down. Last forever. This product has been working great so far, easy to install and use, very small and light, easily portable.
