I was really hesitant to buy this at first because of the reviews but I really needed a cd drive because the newest macs don't have them anymore. I love cds. I have been using this for hundreds of cds to download them to my itunes and it still works beautifully. The only reason why i dont give it 5 stars is because the cord is WAY too short and theres no way to change that. Also i have had some issues with 2 cds where it would not eject so i have force eject it (command E) but then it would work

I trashed my off brand adapter

It would not work with my MacBook Air, but when I purchased the Apple USB adapter there were no issues at all. I trashed my off brand adapter for that reason.
