This is a great plug and play item. Like most Apple products, it is overly expensive for what it is, but it does work very well. It is quiet and seems to be of good quality. No issues so far. Knock off 25-30% off the price, and it would get more stars from me.

Need to rip an old cd collection to your computer? Sturdy, fast, and efficient USB cd/dvd drive. My gf uses it on occasion on her MacBook Pro because the internal disc drive went kaput.

Overall the unit works great, plugs right in and you can get started. There aren't any true negatives aside from it being a little more expensive and there isn't a case with it, but works great!

I will admit to being an Apple fan. Having said that, I am not opposed to purchasing non-Apple products if they offer a substantial improvement over the Apple. While I do believe there are faster drives for less money, I wanted the reliability I (fortunately) consistently experience with Apple. This drive has not failed or malfunctioned at all. I do NOT use the drive excessively. In the past, when I have needed to burn 100's of CDs in a short amount of time, I purchased a multi-drive burner for that specific purpose. For everyday / "normal" use, this drive is quiet and works perfectly.

Kind of expensive, but what do you expect for a mac? It does what it's supposed to do. Plays CDs and DVDs. I bought a cheapo one before but it didn't work so I spent extra money on this one.

The drive is a great piece of hardware that can be interchanged between various Apple computers/laptops. The ability to transport the drive readily is also a bonus.

This disk drive makes it so easy to watch DVDs on my macbook. It's very east to connect and easy to use. It's thin and sleek and not too bulky. Definitely a worth while purchase.

This is a great necessary accessory for a desktop or laptop with no existing drive. If you have a mac desktop or laptop it is an excellent accessory if yo need a disk drive.

This device does exactly what I needed — and then some. Fast, reliable, quiet... It's perfect. A MUST for anybody who has a new MacBook and who "misses" the old-fashioned CD-Roms. Excellent.

The drive is efficient, quiet and responsive. The only thing I would add is an eject button. Now you have to use the apple software (drag the disc icon into the trash on the desktop. I believe there is a paperclip tiny eject port somewhere on the unit but this is not convenient.

I purchase this superdrive with my Mac computer. Seems to be a quality product with ease of use. Just plug in to usb port and the computer recognizes it quickly. Slim and sleek design.

Trouble free and fast. This works better than others in that I can open the tray if the computer is on without unplugging and plugging it back in like I had to do with other brands.

Works well! Just plug into the USB port and insert a disc. Quiet, small, design blends in with the Mac. Relatively fast; does not seem to take much power when MacBook is on batteries.

This superdrive is small and compact and matches really well with the rest of my Apple products. Burns CDs and DVDs great as well as allows games to be played from it without issue.

My experience thus far with this drive is awesome. My MacBook Pro recognized the hardware as expected and the device worked to my complete satisfaction. I used the drive to import music into my iTunes library. I have yet to record using this drive but don’t anticipate any problems. You just can’t beat Apple products like this, they just work right out of the box and continue to do so reliably over the long run... very happy with this purchase. A plug and player’s delight!

It is my first time owning an external drive. I am used to the traditional PC drive (pre-installed into the computer). It is kind of interesting since ejecting a disk is through telling the laptop to do it, rather than having a physical eject button. I would much prefer having a physical button to manually eject, if there were ever any problems with ejecting a disk if the laptop decides to malfunction. It was an interesting feature, and for now I enjoy it. Although I kind of hoped it would play Blu-ray since we are moving to Blue-ray disks, but maybe Apple will incorporate that for next generation laptops and accessories.

I've had no issues with this. I know some people were saying they didn't like it, but it does its' job so I can't complain. I bought it so I could watch movies on my MacBook Air.

It is the perfect size and fits perfectly in my work bag. Great product and so easy to use.

The slim design of this drive worksnout well. Doesn’t take up much room when taking it with you. Works well. Nice size drive. Perfect for my needs
