    This was new to me but I am getting used to it. It is detachable and that is both a positive and a negative. The positive is it is not built into your machine so problems do not require that you go without your computer while being fixed. The negative is that you have to carry around the small detachable disc drive in case you need it. That has not been a problem so far.
