Now a days with apple, it’s impossible to purchase a new computer with a disc drive. This may be a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. After reading reviews on cheaper models, I knew this is what I had to buy. Definitely a buy you won’t regret.

The Apple SuperDrive is a great CD/DVD option for Mac products that no longer have this type of drive. While it isn't needed often when so many media options are online, it is nice to be able to connect this to a USB port and have immediate access to CDs and/or DVDs. I don't think Blu Ray DVDs are readable on Apple products but that is an operating system/software constraint. Just be aware.

Since the new iMac's did away with the internal CD drive you sort of need to buy this, if your going to use CD's or DVD's. Works great so far and I like how thin it is.

i was able to burn about 20 cd's in a short amount of time with this device. it is compact and easily fits in a sleeve if needed to bring along to view dvds if not streaming.

This was so user friendly to use and works great. What you come to expect with Apple products. They are worth the extra money for piece of mind.

All I needed was a disc drive that so play connected to my MacBook via USB and this gets the job done. It would be more helpful if it came with an eject button rather than dragging an icon to the trash to eject. Other than that, it's been very useful for all types of discs

easy to set up. tricky to figure out how to get cd/dvd out after use...Apple not so good on paperwork options. still i like it. it is small , unobtrusive and works great

Just what I needed for my Mac mini, sleek design and performance.

Easy to install and use. I have a built in drive in my iMac, but the extra drive makes some tasks much easier. It is also much easier to replace if it ever breaks.

I needed a CD drive for my new laptop, it didn't come with one. This external CD drive is great because it is fast and compact.

Easy to use. Very fast for importing CDs into iTunes. You’ll need an adapter for USB to USB C for newer Macs.

At first I was bummed that newer MBP's weren't coming with the superdrive built in because I didn't want to have carry one around with me just to use it. I have found though, that I didn't use it as much as I thought, so the fact that the laptop is lighter without it in there is a plus! I did buy an Apple Superdrive b/c I wanted to make they talked nice and worked together without fault and I've been nothing but satisfied with it. I was glad that I purchased it as I have still found some needs in my work for it, so it is a must purchase to have at your disposal IMHO.

Great product that works great with my new Mac mini. Wish the computer came with it built in but it sits on top very nicely and work like a charm.

Love the idea of an external disc drive, no moving parts to replace on my macbook pro. Works great, small and easy to fit in my case to bring along. Works Great!

I was nervous about purchasing the super drive. I read a lot of reviews claiming it was junk, didn't work, waste of money. I read others that said it was great, worked well, plug and go. So, I decided to take the chance and buy the drive and if it didn't work return it with the 15 day return policy. I plugged it in to my computer followed the simple directions. Put in a dvd and amazingly it worked, every time I've used it! I leave it on a flat level surface plugged in and have had no issues. My macbook pro is 2 months old and I run the newest O/S so maybe that's the reason, or the product really works. Try it yourself.

I have a mac air, I rarely need a drive but when I do...I do. This is great and just plug and play I can even use it as an additional drive on my desktop

I love the dvd drive, it is very small and compact so it doesn't take up a lot of room. It was easy to use the first time. Just plug in and watch your movie. Great value

While I don't agree with Apple doing away with a CD drive in the computer, I'm happy with this purchase still. The product is compact and is very user friendly.

This superdrive works on all my Macs that have DVD burning software. Haven't had any issues with this drive. Glad I bought it.

I recently purchased a new Mac Book Pro with retina display, they however, no longer have an internal DVD drive. I purchased the Apple external USB DVD drive just in case I needed to load Movies or CDs and it works great! Plug and play nothing else to worry about! It fits nicely in my notebook case and use it when I need it! Matches my Mac!
