I recently purchased a new Mac Book Pro with retina display, they however, no longer have an internal DVD drive. I purchased the Apple external USB DVD drive just in case I needed to load Movies or CDs and it works great! Plug and play nothing else to worry about! It fits nicely in my notebook case and use it when I need it! Matches my Mac!

Great DVD/CD player/burner. I plugged in to my IMac and no problems at all. Very easy to operate and quiet. Im very pleased with the purchase. Thanks Apple!

I purchased the Apple SuperDrive since the HP CD/DVD drive I purchased would not work with my 2020 MacBook Pro. I have used it a couple of times. The first time it worked great. The next time I used the ports on the left side of my 2020 MacBook Pro and i did not have power to run so I switched to the right side ports and it worked. The 2020 MacBook Pro has a problem with attached drives. I would recommend this for a MacBook Pro computer.

Goes perfect with the new iMac. Pretty much just plug-and-play. Useful because the new iMac with its slim design doesn't have a optical drive. At $69 it's not a bad price.

I originally purchased the Apple Superdrive USB DVD Player to go along with my MacBook Pro Computer… My MacBook Pro comes with only 2-USB Ports to connect Devices, but I needed 4-Ports to connect all my Devices… I purchased a 4-Port Powered Hub and connected the Superdrive, but it was not recognized by the Computer… As a result, I had to return the Superdrive and purchased an LG USB DVD Drive that does work… Apparently the Apple Superdrive requires a lot more power than other USB DVD drives… There is no noticeable difference in performance, even though the Superdrive cost twice as much as other drives… I am very disappointed it requires direct access to the computer USB Port to operate!

I bought similar LG as it was half the price with better capabilities, I had to return it as it caused several problems with my Mac. This device works perfectly with my laptop, plays DVDs & CDs only; no blue ray. Size is perfect and fit nicely in my laptop case.

I purchased this item for my MackBook pro and I just love it. It's small, compact and fits perfectly in any computer case. It's fast and works well.

By far the best reviewed disc drive for apple laptops. I wouldn't recommend cheaping out and getting generic spend the extra money on this, you want regret it

This is the second one we've purchased since July - a family member jammed a disk in and it stuck in there. We tried everything to get it out. Took it back to BestBuy but they had to refer us to an Apple Service dealer. Went to Apple service place and were told they only thing they could do was break it open b/c it was an obsolete item and no longer being manufactured. Wasn't worth arguing about. I am happy enough with the product to purchase a second one but be careful to keep it level and insert disks gently!

This super drive is fantastic! It is portable and light weight. I have not had any problems with it thus far. However, the price is a little high in my opinion.

Purchased this as an addition to my MBP due to the fact that there was no disk drive. Super easy to set up and use! Not so bulky that it takes up extra space when using.

This was a definite must have so I could download my CD collection to iTunes. It's easy to use, Plug and play, and fast.

It is pretty simple. You plug it in and it works. No additional drivers or support is needed. It is slim and lightweight if you have to throw it in your laptop bag.

I needed an external drive , since my MacBook Pro has no CD/DVD drive. This one from Apple fit the bill perfectly. Easy to use, comes with everything needed. I was up and running in less than five minutes. It is a little pricey for a external drive, but well worth it IMHO.

The Apple DVD reader / writer worked right out of the box without any fuss. And it looks amazing as well - low profile and aluminum finish.

Works great. Exactly what I needed to quickly and easily transfer files from old CDs / DVDs to new hard drive.

Apple has been trying to eliminate drives so my new iMac does not have one, but everyone now and then you need a drive to upload those old DVD's or CD's into your iTunes library or update some old but valued software. This drive does the trick -- its an Apple so it looks great and it works like a charm right out of the box and unlike many other Apple products, it is reasonably priced.

It’s small, work well. It was easy to set up and easy to use.

Very smart looking and compact. It communicates very well with my Mac, I had no trouble hooking it up. It is metal which complements the Mac.

This is a really excellent machine. It's fast and efficient. and it interfaces perfectly with my MacBook Pro. No need to do any setup because it's plug 'n play!
