    I purchased a new Apple laptop 13.5" and the sad thing was that it did not have DVD/CD capability. With this unit, I am still able to view and produce DVD's, which is important to my wife's business. Yes, I could have purchased a more expensive laptop, but we're a small business and this all fit into our budget.

    Bought a new MAC mini recently, but unfortunately mac decided to not include a drive. Hence my need to buy one so I could load my photos and other things from CD or DVD. The drive is physically pretty heavy so I assume it made of quality components that I hope will last a lifetime! I would recommend this drive for anyone with a Mac that needs the ability for a drive.

    Brought this to go with my Mac devices without internal CD drive. It works well and is durable. Not sure if the price is worth it.

    My most recent MacBook Pro doesn't have a disk drive(dd). As I am getting old (Oh, heck, I'm already old-I just don't like to admit it.) I felt uncomfortable with a Mac lacking that component. I have not used the this product very much, but the seems to work as well as well as the dd included with my previous Mac-which is to say, "Just fine."
