    Have to have a cd if you have a mac. My daughter wanted to watch hoe movies so she used the cd player to play movies' and hooks up the mac to her TV. We ended up buying one for her sister too. They don't use it very much but nice to have when needed.

    Most laptops don't come with optical drives anymore. I have the new MacBook Pro that has solid state technology and no optical drive. While I don't need one much anymore, the Super Drive is a welcomed addition to my laptop. Works beautifully and I'm glad I got it for Christmas. I've been wanting one.
