    Desktop computers, both Mac and PC, don't seem to come with built in optical drives these days. I got the Apple DVD drive so I'd be able to import my music CDs and programs that I bought on disc. The drive functions as advertised. I've burnt one DVD so far but imported a lot of music CDs and the drive has worked with not problems.

    Unfortunately, since CD's seem to be going the way of the Dodo I had to purchase this to install some of my older more useful, not cloud based, programs. It's easy to set up: you just plug it into a USB Port and go from there. The only downfall of this product is the fact that it sounds like a jet engine. I would suggest buying a pair of Noise Canceling headphones. If not you may end up needing Rosetta Stone American Sign Language.
