I had bought cheaper products in the past and they broke after very little use. I have installed many music cds with this SuperDrive and it's still whirling along. It's not the fastest but it's still working...

Overpriced, doesn't do what I need it to
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this for my 13" MacBook Pro 2020, model A2338. I didn't know "USB" meant standard USB-Type A, not a Type-C. You can get one of these regular USB CD/DVD drives at Walmart for a fraction of the cost, as well as the adapter for converting USB-A to USB-C, which luckily I already have, also from Best Buy. When I inserted my Transformers DVD into it, it took about 10 seconds and then spit the DVD right back out, basically making this completely useless. If anyone has suggestions for it to work, please let me know! Because watching a movie in bed is much easier with my 13" MacBook Pro than my heavy Alienware laptop! As for the good, yes, it does work. I popped in my Steelheart CD to test it, and it took a a few seconds to open up the Apple Music app to show the list of tracks, and I immediately thought, OMG this darn thing just ate my CD! LOL I am also very pleased that it is silver, which matches my MacBook Pro. Yes, I am OCD about dumb little things like that.

DVD player lol

The movie I played was clear, wish it was just a bit crisper than it was but pauses, plays, and stops fast. I was worried how I was going to ejected the DVD seeing as it doesn't have an eject button on the device. The program that is on my MacBook Air has an eject button and it ejected immediately.
