    As a teacher, during COVID virtual teaching, I needed something that would allow me to show film excerpts (I teach screenwriting) virtually. This item had a feature that blocked transmissions. Returned it the same day.

    This is a great CD burner, it downloads CD's at a decent rate to add to my I-Tunes Library and you can burn your playlist onto a blank CD if desired. It also pays regular DVD movies, which is a great feature if you want to watch a movie on your computer.

    This was a necessary peripheral purchase when I purchased my new Macbook Pro which has no disc drive. This drive gets moderate use, functioning mainly to import CDs into iTunes, burn DVDs, and create the occasional backup. It's also convenient to have on hand for those rare occasions when I need to install some software from a disc. Completely simple installation as usual from Apple, unwrap, plug in the USB cable, that's it. The cable is quite short: for my Macbook Pro setup it's fine.
