Not to worry, though: you plug it in and it is ready to roll. There are no annoying drivers to install or stupid compatibility issues. Plus, it looks cool and keeps your actual desk uncluttered. A must-buy.

Just connect the cable to your USB port and you can use any DVD or CD ROM that you might have, without the annoying weight of having the drive permanently installed.

USB-Type C needed for new Macs
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.So, the drive itself is good. It does exactly what you want it to do. Here's the issue: It comes with a regular USB connection. However, newer MacBooks only have Type-C ports. If you have all Type-C ports, then you need to buy the USB to USB-C adapter, and it needs to be the Apple version or it may not power this DVD drive. Apple...seriously...you only put USB-C ports on the new Macs, and sell a drive that doesn't come with a USB-C connection? For $80 it should come with the $20 adapter, or just have the USB-C connection on it to begin with.
