worked great to transfer music from cds to Itunes

What is missing on my Mac minis...

I get inexpensive movies on DVD and now I can watch them. The SuperDrive uses the USB interface so it will also be Windows compatible.

Don't settle for any other

It had many problems... noisy, slow, unable to read many discs. My Apple Superdrive has none of those issues. It stands up to it's brand's reputation.. quality.

Easy to use, great addition to our Mac

Necessary accessory

When I needed to replace my laptop, because I found it still necessary to have an optical drive, I purchased this external unit to complete my basic computing needs. Seems to work well so far, but it is a bit less convenient.

Good Spinner

The only reason for not giving it the 5th star is that it does not support Blu-ray disks. I can't figure out exactly why Apple is so reluctant to incorporate the Blu-ray format into their machines. If there is an upside, however, it's that the SuperDrive is still way less expensive than any of the 3rd party Blu-ray drives and software that would enable a Mac to play the format.

VERY small "footprint"

I can disconnect to use on other computers and it uses a really small "footprint", leaving lots of desk space for other things. The thinness of it is a bonus too, as I can stack other items on top, since it is aluminum and can support the extra weight.

External Drive

I have some DVDs that I use and this drive is perfect for that. I do not need to have it running all the time.

excellent device

Then I saw the computers had gotten so thin that there was literally NO place to put them. $79 is a bit more than "off brands" cost, but apple quality is probably worth it.
