Great Apple Quality. I bought this for my Wife's Mac Book Pro. She needed a drive and since they do not have one onboard, I had to get this for her. I did not want her to have to deal with issues that other brand drives seem to have. So worth the price difference.

Was kinda nervous about getting this drive based on some of the reviews, but it has worked for me so far.

Bought for my daughter for Christmas. She has used it to transfer the CDs she wanted to her Mac Laptop for ITunes. Worked Great. She is happy with this product.

This external USB drive is very functional. If you're looking for an external drive this one should fill your needs.

After buying an off-brand drive to save a few bucks, I learned my lesson. It had many problems... noisy, slow, unable to read many discs. My Apple Superdrive has none of those issues. It stands up to it's brand's reputation.. quality.

I'm not going used it that much but its there when I need it. And it work just great and the size is supper.

I was able to watch my old DVDs with my Mac book using this. Only wish the price is lower.

It was disappointing to see that new MAC computers are omitting an optical drive. When I needed to replace my laptop, because I found it still necessary to have an optical drive, I purchased this external unit to complete my basic computing needs. Seems to work well so far, but it is a bit less convenient.

Good quality as expected from Apple easy to setup.

I was at first concerned when I heard that apple had removed the disk drive from the "standard" features on their computers. Then I saw the computers had gotten so thin that there was literally NO place to put them. $79 is a bit more than "off brands" cost, but apple quality is probably worth it.

It does what it's supposed to do. I bought it mainly as a port to copy CDs to my hard drive. The only reason for not giving it the 5th star is that it does not support Blu-ray disks. I can't figure out exactly why Apple is so reluctant to incorporate the Blu-ray format into their machines. If there is an upside, however, it's that the SuperDrive is still way less expensive than any of the 3rd party Blu-ray drives and software that would enable a Mac to play the format.

I like that it is so small and lightweight as well.

Tried another brand at half the cost, it was flimsy and didn’t work fresh out of the box. Back to Apple - just like always - it works. Is Apple perfect? No, but I can count on it and have for just over 40 years - not kidding.
