This extension is a necessary item for one with a collection of CDs. To make copies, I believe from now on I'll use my Windows laptop with the software I am used to using there. I wanted to avoid writing the music files to my hard drive on the MacBook Pro, but with the iTunes software I could not avoid it. So my complaint is mostly with the iTunes software. I probably need to obtain somewhere the necessary software to copy disks. Otherwise, the USB SuperDrive is a good item.

The external drive is a needed item for the IMac/Macbook. Easy to move and attach to either, ready to go.

very nice silver finish, not too big, not too small. wish the usb cord was a bit longer.

I’m very impressed with the construction of this CC DVD player writer. The case is heavy duty and appears to be made of aluminum. I have it hooked up to my iMac and so far it has operated flawlessly for both reading and writing.

Apple disc burner. It is very slim and easy to travel with.

We bought a MacBook air and needed a CD drive. This unit was easily plugged in and running within minutes of buying.

Fast and easy to use. Sticks that it comes as extra rather than built in computer. Just extra space.

so I was scared to death to venture away from the Windows platform and go to Apple but now that I have I wish that I had done it sooner! now I see what all the hoopla was about! It's great!

I like the fact that I can take DVDs with me to watch when I leave my home. Easy to use even for the grandchildren.

For playing dvds , CDs, or burning them. This is the ticket, if you have a MacBook Pro depending upon the year you will most likely need an additional adapter so you can plug the apple drive in. Also it’s tricky to eject your disc. Command e is the easiest way

Works great with a mac book air. There is not much on cd anymore.

The disc drive is compact, easy to use. Can't play or write BluRay discs.

Worked as described once machine permissions were adjusted. If you own aMAC and this item isn't saving or burning it doesn't tell you to adjust your permissions I spent a couple hours with support thinking something was either wrong with burner or needed something like a driver when it was a file sharing permission. It works fine and it doesn't take too long burn files it's quite simple to operate

Easy plug and play burner for Mac. Would have given 5 stars if burning speed was faster, max speed of 8x

This device works great on my 27” iMac 5K, it’s all what you can expect from a superdrive but in a external form. The only problem is that it only works on devices that does not include a disc drive from factory, it didn’t work on my 13” macbook pro with a broken drive or in my mac mini without the internal drive. If you are looking to get this for a mac that used to have a disc drive, this will not work for you.

Tried another brand at half the cost, it was flimsy and didn’t work fresh out of the box. Back to Apple - just like always - it works. Is Apple perfect? No, but I can count on it and have for just over 40 years - not kidding.

Some times you still need an external like this, and this does its job

After trying other drives that did not work, we settled on this one. It did the job, but it is a bit pricy.
