I tried a less expensive brand and it would not eject a CD - thankfully it was the manufacturer's CD and I returned it - that happened the first time I used it so I exchanged it for the Apple product and am happy with it.

This is sleek and elegant, yet as basic as it comes. Be forewarned: the drive does not "grab" your disc. You have to push your CD into the drive most of the way before it pulls it in. I actually returned this drive at first because I thought it was broken! Works fine and reads discs great. Perfect for ripping your CD collection into iTunes.

Too Expensive for what it is, but its apple so what do you expect. Works just like a $20 external CD rom but apple branded. Slot loaders also give me anxiety. Will I ever see my cd rom again?? who knows!

I think it's interesting that MacBooks are no loner made with the Super Drive. It seems that this technology is becoming out-of-date even though I still use them regularly. It's quite durable, sometimes bulky, but a quality accessory for anyone that still needs/uses a Super Drive!

I love and am understanding the downloading of my pics and others. It’s very needed to store them on disks n other storages.

I like the low profile look to the disc drive and how easy it was install and was completely streamline

Well this is some old school technology, a super drive, CD burner for a Mac. Don’t like that it won’t play movies on dvd, like my old macs would, I think it’s because copyright issues not sure why but none of dvd movies play on it. Anyway I got this for so I can still see my own homemade movies, photos, files, that have stored on cd’s.

I had an older model imac that still came with disc drive and upgraded to the newer model without the drive and it just didn't feel right. I've only used a few times so far and not for burning since no one uses CD's anymore but I will try to use it soon.

So far, it works well. I wish that it had an eject button, but other that that, it works fine.

I was running out of hard drive space so I decided to back up all my files and keep my work safe, this is a well needed Export hard drive I feel safe that all my hard work is safe.

Plug and play. So easy for me to use right out of the box. I was pleasantly surprised!

Kinda sad apple doesn't have this built in to the MacBook Pro. A little pricey but needed.

The superdrive is really quite necessary now that so many laptops do not have built in drives. I create DVD's of movies and photos for clients/friends with material just too large to handle with email -- and you know the disc is going to last and not accidentally get deleted.

This super drive is thin and compact, but does the job very well
