Since my mac book pro does not have a CD Drive, I needed a solution.

This is an awesome accessory to have, in my opinion. Though I do not use it terribly often, it's perfect for the on-the-go movie player, or software download. Only downside is is that it doesn't play Blu-ray movies.

My daughter needed this for her Mac due to a college course. Works great. Easy install.

Love my new computer. The salesperson was very helpful. I must let it be known that the Geek, Kevin roper was excellent. He helped me with my new computer as well as my old one that needed a new hard drive. He was professional, curious and extremely knowledgeable about the products.

This small stylish design matches the iMac. Fits perfectly on top of the stand under the monitor.

...but frankly, i don't need that. this DVD drive matches the apple industrial design motif perfectly and like most apple products takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin' - never had any issues out of this. highly recommend this over the $20 junk external DVDs on Amazon.

I bought this because the laptop I purchased didn't have a CD tray and we wanted to be able to watch DVDs.

What can I say. If you want to read/write CDs/DVDs you need this drive with any new Mac. Works great. Just be aware it needs to be plugged directly into the usb on your machine as it takes power from the usb.

Nice and light, designed well and fits with Mac Mini-setup. Lack of Blu-ray a drawback. Come on Apple...

I love this! The MacBook Retina doesn't have a cd/DVD drive so this is perfect! I couldn't live without it

I picked up this external drive when I recently bought myself a new Imac. I discovered that Apple no longer includes a CD/Dvr drive in their new crop of Imacs. This works great. Only downside is now I have to use up one of my USB slots. But the drive is great and I do recommend it.

the apple superdrive is a great product that is super easy to set up and use. the only thing i wish it had was a way to manually eject a disk in case one gets stuck (which happened to me, but fortunately, unplugging it from the usb port and plugging it back in enabled the disk to eject).

I am a fan of apple products, phone, laptop, iPad, TV, monitor and even the new apple watch. But this product is really mediocre. I used to use a cheap $30ish HP DVD external drive and it works way better and more durable, although it was plastic. I had such strong belief in Apple's product and I purchased that without any hesitation. The first one was broken and scratched my DVDs and CDs like crazy. Somehow it passed the 15 days of return or exchange and I was directed to go to Apple Store. I wasn't happy about how best buy handles returns. 15 days and it became a piece of junk and I couldn't return or exchange it in the original retailer? What a joke. Anyway, the guys at Apple Store were really awesome and I got an exchange of a new one and so far it works fine. But as far as the versatility and easy-to-handle feature is concerned, my old plastic, light HP is way more advanced comparing to this product. I don't understand why it gets such high rating.

Good DVD reader/writer for apple computers. Easy to install and use.

I purchased a MacBook Pro and now that MacBooks don’t come with disc drive I needed a reliable one for some work. Nothing better than this one . An Apple SuperDrive.

It is simple and easy to use. Pull it out of box and plug it in. Most Apple product s work well together.

I had an older model imac that still came with disc drive and upgraded to the newer model without the drive and it just didn't feel right. I've only used a few times so far and not for burning since no one uses CD's anymore but I will try to use it soon.
