Apple Super Drive 8x
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This is a beautiful addition to my iMac, it fits in perfectly on top of the iMac base and the brushed steel finish puts the cherry on the cake, I wish this was a Blue Ray Player so I could play some Blue Ray discs, I guess you can't have everything!

Works well, replacing an LG USB mini USB-A one

I had to replace an LG unit due its USB mini to USB-A interface. So far very reliable. Warning: no Blue-ray capability.

The Apple Super Drive is a great accessory

It takes a lot of work and coordination to do what you do and I want you to know that I appreciate it.

Had to buy this add on or throw out 1000 DVDs I own. Just another effort to get us to pay monthly cloud storage fees. Don't you hate paying for ALL your movies each and every month?

Couldn't use it

Found out it won't work with 2011 MacBooks. Had to return it. I ended up getter no a Pioneer that also takes blue ray disks that is better than the Apple drive.

why did they remove optical drives?

But I still wonder why they can't make optical drives built into the machines anymore. its now almost an extra $100 purchase just so you can install programs that aren't downloaded from the App Store. Hmmm, maybe that is the reason? they only want us to use the App Store and download things.

Apple disc player/burner

It does everything that I need it for. I almost bought it new but it was a lot less so I bought the lightly used one. I use strictly Apple products so why confuse the issue by buying something possibly not comparable. The right move
