The only thing was that I wound up buying Apple’s USB-A to USB-C connecter in order to use it as my mini doc was not able to power it.

Apple has ignored updating to blueray. Classy Apple Design. Apples do player software in the PowerBook has issues.

Backup drive for Laptop has worked flawlessly

Time Machine reminds me when a backup is overdue and I switch on the drive, plug in the USB cord and start Time Machine. I have had occasions when I needed to retrieve a file that got inadvertently deleted and had no problem copying it from the backup back onto the computer. I'm no tech wizard but I've even figured out how to store other files on this drive (drag and drop - duh).
