Works as described. Nothing special about it- probably should’ve gone with an off brand to save money but it seems well made.

I have had one of these at home for my Mac-Mini and it's always been reliable. Recently the internal CD drive in my MacBook Pro ceased working so I bought another one to use instead of getting the MacBook repaired. However, if your mac has an internal drive, this external unit will not function...who would have known. But the drive itself is great.

Why go through the problem of going the Apple Store in the Mall when Best Buy is around the corner and with online ordering and in-store pickup what could be more convenient? And, competitive pricing on Apple products, what more needs to be said? Best Buy for Apple!

A bit price for a cd drive, but as to be expected with Apple no complaints so far.

I needed a cd writer for my MacBook and decided that this was the one I wanted. I trust Apple's quality (most of the time) and liked that it would match with my Mac's aluminum chassis. Upon purchasing it, I found a few flaws. The first was that the USB cable did not disconnect from the back of the writer; it was built right in. While if you plan on leaving this connected to an iMac or desktop PC this shouldn't be a problem, for mobility I believe this will lead to ultimate failure. Chords break or loose connectivity and without the ability to replace a $1 chord, I believe I will be left with a pretty aluminum brick. I also didn't like that there was no eject button (but that was not a deal breaker). I ended up returning it and went with a different model. I later went to Apple's own website and people were far less kind than I when reviewing the writer. If mobility matters, keep looking.

Didn't realize Apple deleted optical drives from their lineup of new computers. This solves that problem and you can put it away when not in use. Works like a champ.

This product arrived quickly. It was easy to setup and use.

So I bought a MacBook Pro & didn't even realize that I didn't have a CD /DVD player. So I had to buy an external one. I was very pleased to learn that it was on sale and that I could use my Best Buy points towards it, so it was a pretty sweet deal!

Salesman was knowledgeable and sold us what we needed.

Works very well, but another accessary that MACis requiring you to but with their CPU's.

Works as needed and that’s great. Seems very reliable and works well as soon as you put a CD in. Seems to have fewer skips than other ones I have used.

I have a Mac system and my newer Mac Airs do not have a CD/DVD slot. I know disks are rapidly becoming a thing of the past but I gave 10 years of storage on discs. Files, reports, photos etc.

It's a great supplement for our iMac. I was a little discouraged that the iMac didn't come with a disc drive until I did research. Considering the issues involved with having an internal drive, I was glad to pay for the add on. It operates quietly and effectively.

Works great and now my laptop is complete. So glad that Apple decided to incorporate this option. Love the capability of inserting a movie or tutorial.Only thing......mine is black...not silver as described but makes no difference....I am happy.

Did not work with my old MacPro when the internal super drive died, works fine with my new MacAir
