I have gone through 4 of these. They are great as long as they sit on your desk and they don't get moved a lot. I keep the original packaging when traveling and not one of them works at the end of a trip and I hand carry them in my carry-on bags. Best Buy has replaced them each time but the product is not sturdy which is surprising for an Apple Product.

Good decent derive. Do the job I expected. The design is very slim and looks nice!

This device is simple and does its job with ease but needs an eject button on it.

Based on looks it appeared the unit would have the black side with the apple logo facing up , however that is incorrect and after having the disc eject several times realized the unit was upside down. My bad! so far its working fine. Only time will tell.

This is something you will find as a NEED not just a want. With everything being reduced in size we find ourselves having to reach back unless you plan on increasing your hardrive space.

i needed a way to view my pictures on my computer, so this is great and simple!

This thing is a must if you have a any of the newer apples. I don't know why they are getting rid of the CD drives on their computers. We do a lot of pictures and still have a bunch on CDs so we needed this thing. Works great.

This is my first external DVD drive for my Apple Mac and it works great.

I bought the external CD/DVD drive as I don't use these items in my laptop enough to warrant buying another laptop with one built in. My other MacBook Pro has one built in I can use at any time. I like the fact that without it, the laptop is much lighter.

Bought this because my new computer does not have a disc drive. The price was good and I Have used it for programs and movies I have on disc. It is a worthwhile product if you need a disc drivel.

Amazing product! Would recommend getting a computer without a disc drive and buying one of these! You save money and you don't have the extra weight of it every time you carry your computer!

I wish Apple would have continued to offer one standard in my new iMac, but they don't. So here I had to buy one. I could have gone with any brand, but I have to admit it, this one looks as good as all of my mac products. so there you go...

Easy to use. Looks great. Always go with apple products... They always work better.

however, it was hard to figure out how to use it. As a PC user for so many years, I have found the MAC BOOK and external drive difficult to use..couldn't figure out how to make the computer read the disc. Having said that, I realize that the reason I bought the MAC products is their quality of construction.
