Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had an issue with it initially where I couldn't get it to work on my MacBook because of region timezone setting etc. I had to set it up on a different MacBook in order to get it to work on my Mac. Wish it reads blu-ray. Otherwise works well

Amazing technology by apple

Long waits and not as good of service as Best Buy. Best Buy is fast and has great service and offers all apple products

Much needed item for a new apple convert

This Product allows him to listen to CDs and run programs that he owns on disc.

I have been using it for a few months and so far so good. Doesn't have noise at all and reads the disc quite fast.

Only downside is the USB cord is a bit short and won't work off my hub. Must be hooked directly into the Mac. Your experience may be different, I'm still using a USB1 hub.

a new necessesary evil
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.since the new iMac no longer has an optical drive, this USB superdrive is a requirement if you want to use CD/DVD's with the computer. I found out that the SuperDrive must be plugged directly into a USB port on the back of the computer, not a hub. it does what it is supposed to do, though i haven't written any data to a blank disc yet.

It can be tricky to figure out at first because it does not have an eject button, but after it is used a few times, it becomes easy to use works great.
