I bought a MacBook Pro for my daughter who HAD to have a drive for her SIMS game. This is a flexible alternative since the current MacBooks are not being built with internal drives. The good news is it's your typical great Apple construction!

Great drive and makes everything very convenient, especially when you are use to having a DVD/CD drive in your computer.

since the new iMac no longer has an optical drive, this USB superdrive is a requirement if you want to use CD/DVD's with the computer. I found out that the SuperDrive must be plugged directly into a USB port on the back of the computer, not a hub. it does what it is supposed to do, though i haven't written any data to a blank disc yet.

Product performs as stated but needs to have a external eject button

Typical cd rom drive. Bought it for my MacBook Pro to use with the small cd's but it will not allow you to use the small cd's and they get stuck in the unit and ruin it. But can be used for regular cd's. I bought a cheap one on eBay to use for small cd's and it works just as good as this more expensive one.

I was hesitant about purchasing a MacBook Pro that doesn't come equipped with a DVD player like my older one does. But I went ahead and did it but bought the external player to go with it. It seems to work just fine, no problems so far.

This is very easy to use, and it it is a great portable addition to my Mac.

Nothing special. It gets the job done. Really handy if you have macbook air.

great to transfer my cd's to my computer and then onto my I pod

I owned a previous SuperDrive. It somehow got tossed out with the trash. Therefore this is a replacement for that one. Excellent drive. Don't know if this works with other than a Mac but recommend it if you have a Mac.

I didn't realize when I bought my laptop that they don't commonly come with a cd drive anymore. So I bought this one thinking I would most def need it. welllll I've only used it a handful of times haha. but it worked great when i did use it!!

Yes, Apple products may cost a little more than others but their products are worth it by themselves but once you realize Apple's employees are empowered to do what's right for their clients is the main reason I purchase them.

This product is a great addition to the Mac computer for college students. My daughter is a graduate student in a psychology program and needs to keep interviews confidential. Having this external drive for her Mac allows her to do that.

Purchased this for my 2014 MBP Retna. Does the trick and will be able to "grow" with me into new devices. A must have accessory for newer Apple products if you are in an industry where things still come on CDs.
