if you own a newer mac you will need this to burn and/or use cds or dvds

This is the second one I’ve owned I use the first one for three years at work five days a week was flawless till the cord finally gave out so I’m on my second one I expect to get at least the same results

Overall good. Pricey but gets the job done. Just wish that it played blu ray.

We got this with the mac book and love it. Works great and no issues.

The drive is over priced but it does do what is expected of it.

Given that new laptops getting smaller and simplified, as light as they get, some old school features were eliminated. For you to copy old school stuff, you need a reliable old school device.

I find this product to be very easy to use and virtually maintenance free.

Needed to multi-task my burning of DVD's and this did the trick. Rather inexpensive and provides me with additional output. A little slow on burning, but I still get the increased production I desired.

I am very happy with my purchase. I really wish that it came standard with the IMac for the amount of money I paid however I am still satisfied with the stand alone option.

I had lost my ITunes library. Not sure exactly how this happened. The Super Drive enabled me to put all my music back to the Cloud very easily. I’m very happy to have it all back.

love the device so simple to use and no problems what so ever. plays any disc along as its not a blu ray but besides that its a great buy. would love if apple would release a blu ray drive to take full advantage of the macbook retina display.

As mentioned; elegant, simple to use and as fast as they can come. No brainer.

While I enjoy that it looks like all my other Apple stuff, the fact that it's so expensive without playing minidisks or Blu-Rays is a little bit disappointing. This is probably long overdue for an update. It's exactly what's advertised, and it works flawlessly - but it's not great value for the money.

This is a good companion to the macbook pro purchased at the same time

Accomplishes what I needed out of it, so I am happy with it.

Good drive, easy plug and play. Runs just like a normal apple cd drive.

Having an Apple lap top I wanted to stay with a proven winner. I stay with the Apple products, they may cost a bit more but are worth it.

I selected the Apple over other generic drives based on the quality of workmanship. The Apple drive is metal, while the others were made of plastic. The Apple drive has an integrated USB cord so you don't worry about finding it.
