    This was a Christmas gift for my 23 year old granddaughter. She asked for an external hard drive and this one was way more than she expected. It has way more space than she should need for a long time.

    The drive performs well, but it hangs up on media when I try to insert a disk. It seems that some sort of mechanism inside the unit is partially blocking the media. I don’t want to send it in for repair, because they will really screw it up.

    Purchased this for my wife, so do not use it myself, but it appears to be working out for her quite well. All I can say from personal experience is that it looks good, runs quietly, and must be fairly "user friendly".

    I purchase the apple super drive to go along with all my other apple products and I love it! Its very quiet when inserting a disc which is a plus! I highly recommend definitely if you're a apple fan like me!

    I have a Macbook Air, and picked up the SuperDrive for optical disc reading when needed. Performs as expected. Simple installation, great quality of the product. Wish it was Blu Ray, but I knew it wasn't when I purchased it.

    My latest and greatest MacBook Pro does not come with a CD-DVD. So I have no choice than but to use the external SuperDrive if I want to save data,photos or movie clips to CD/DVD. It's also reasonably priced.

    Considering my new Mac does not come with disk drive it was necessary to purchase this for a few things I would need to upload and to make CD when necessary. Best Buy had the best price.

    I have a Mac Mini and needed a CD/DVD player and burner and this was the most logical choice. I have only used it to import CD's into my iTunes and so far I am very impressed. It is a great product for the price.
