    Do you have any CDs or DVDs? Then you will want to buy an apple external super drive since there is no longer one in an iMac because it is so thin.

    The new MacBooks do not have an optical drive. I needed to add cds to my iTunes library. This is simple, elegant, & fast - like all Apple products.

    I got this for my Apple 13 inch retina display laptop which does not come with an inbuilt CD/DVD reader. It works well and I have not problems with it yet.

    Apple products are costly but they work very well. I buy apple if they have a computer product I need. If I want to give a gift I give apple if possibble

    Took a while for CD reader to become "acquainted with " my Mac. But overall I am happy with my purchases. Wish original salesman had offered the additions or at least educated my as to what was NOT included in the Mac I purchased.
