I was leery it wouldn't work as well since it's an attachment, but I haven't had any problems. Yes, it's way too expensive when you've already purchased a MacBook, but if you are in need of a cd drive this will work fine.

Works as you would expect. Still need CD capability for my Mac and this is easy to connect and disconnect as needed.

I was hesitant to make the purchase at first but I read the reviews and decided to try it. I am so glad I did. Previously my computer was so slow when opening apps, switching from one app to another, or just going into finder, it was painfully slow. I now feel like I have a new computer. There is little delay and I can have several programs open at the same time and switch back and forth with little time loss. I am so glad I made the switch to using SSD.

Product works great, but it is pretty expensive for a dvd-rw drive in my opinion. Apple makes solid products though

I purchased the Apple SuperDrive for use with my 2018 MacBook Pro. I plugged it into my "non-apple" adapter and could not get it to work. I took it to the Geek Squad and after trouble-shooting, it was determined it needed to be used with an Apple adapter. After this initial mystery was solved, it works great,

This external CD/DVD drive became a necessary peripheral accessory when it was no longer built into the MacBook laptop. It works the same as the previously built-in units. It accepts and ejects disks in the same manner as most car sound systems using a motorized mechanism. One of the downside of this product is that it didn't recognize the Blu-Ray disk format. The price is little bit pricy though.

I didn't realize that the 27 inch iMac did not have a drive until I got it home. I've had a 2009 model, still working as I write this, and just didn't think to ask or look. No problem. I ordered this, hooked it up, and played some previously recorded music. The Mac recognized it right away, and I have not had any problem thus far. Runs very silent, and is so slim, it's not noticeable as an add on. Just blends in nicely.

I bought this and used a delivery service to bring it to me, my delivery driver stole it. Anyways, Best Buy sent me another one and this one did not get stolen hallelujah. Worked very well. Getting the disk out was literally a hassle, this is more than likely a user error not the product . Other than that, great purchase. And a real journey.

This may not be the least expensive unit, or the most tech advanced, but it's Apple so I knew it would be the most reliable unit! It matches my MacBook Pro, and fits nicely into my carrying case. I love it!
