I purchased the Apple SuperDrive for use with my 2018 MacBook Pro. I plugged it into my "non-apple" adapter and could not get it to work. I took it to the Geek Squad and after trouble-shooting, it was determined it needed to be used with an Apple adapter. After this initial mystery was solved, it works great,

It is up there in price but it is completely compatible with apple laptops. Easy to use.

I found buying the SuperDrive ...DVD/CD... to be a good decision. It gives me the ability to increase the computer storage capacity since I do not have to store everything in the computer. Information, data, pictures, etc which I want to keep but I do not use often I can burned it into a DVD/CD. I am happy with my investment on the SuperDrive...DVD/CD.

The super drive is a nice little accessory for MacBooks without the cd slot. I personally stopped purchasing CD's and using them a few years ago, so I don't mind the laptops not having them anymore. This little drive works great. It's quiet and super compact, so if you need to use a CD, you can. Pretty straight forward. You should probably pick one up for your macbook.

I need a rom drive for my older iMac and it works great and looks like it is part of the iMac.

Now that portable computers are lighter they no longer have the CD accessory. That can be a problem since the world have not moved away from dependency on CD software. Yes, you can download from the web, but when crashes happen you need the ability to get that program back and a convenient place for the product code. Having a portable drive comes in handy especially one that can easily move from Apple to Windows and back for those split households.

Apple’s external drive is is very easy to use and fits in my computer bag.

I love how small and just fits under screen. Just know the eject button is on the keyboard. Works great.

This optical drive works just fine. It's thin and relatively portable, but not as easy as if it were inside laptop. The drive works flawlessly though, so other than the extra cost associated with it, it's great!

I bought this SuperDrive together with MacBook. Like all Apple products, it is fashionable and elegant. Easy to use. The only issue is that it is more expensive than similar function products.

As an Apple computer enthusiast, I was disappointed to see the optical drive removed from the newest desktops and laptops. I understand that it reduces the computer's footprint, but burning CDs and DVDs is still something I do often. Purchasing the Apple SuperDrive is a no-brainer for those looking to burn data, music, and pictures to CDs. It is portable and only requires the attached USB cord to work. I have had no problems with it and am happy to have it at my disposal.
