This works exactly as advertised. It takes very little room on my desk and burns dvd's and cd's fast.

Super drive is compact, quiet,works smoothly, had other drives but it is above the others in performance.

Now that few laptop brands have CD drives, there are still times when one is necessary. The Apple SuperDrive is by far the best both technically and in size, extremely thin, and the same square size as a Mac Mini. Carrying this accessory takes up virtually no space in any bag one uses. I’ve purchased several for my associates, making us all prepared for anything we may need in the area of media technology.

High speed, light and easy to transport with laptop. Great for those who need to still access CDs.

Trying to use Apple Products on new desktop iMac and laptop. Only problem encountered was the USB vs new port had to use adaptor for it. Works smoothly and no issues. Glad to have it and can call Apple if need heal. Would buy it again.

I got a great deal on this product but I notice the cord is way to short but other then that it's cool ... It should be fast too but still a good product

I purchased the Apple SuperDrive for use with my 2018 MacBook Pro. I plugged it into my "non-apple" adapter and could not get it to work. I took it to the Geek Squad and after trouble-shooting, it was determined it needed to be used with an Apple adapter. After this initial mystery was solved, it works great,

The Apple - SuperDrive 8x External USB Double-Layer DVD RW/CD-RW Drive is very handy and worth the premium price as with all Apple products soley because of the ease of use and user friendly software...USB cable is simply plug and go which is nice compared to the cumbersome bs required with any other branded burner...not to mention the support for double-layer media disks which are handy for large GB storage such as HD video or backups...highly recommend...

Love the external drive and the portability. It was easy to set up and use, as well as fast. Highly recommend it.

We initially purchased the Mac external hard drive in order to allow us to access files stored on cd's. This was necessary since some of the cd's were corrupt and we did not want them to freeze up our Mac minis while working on them. The Mac external hard drive was a perfect choice for the purposes of what we intended and it takes up so little space you can place it anywhere.

This drive is simple to use and fast to hook up. Glad I purchased this.

Bought this to compliment my MacBook Pro Retina as I travel with it more than my older 15" MacBook Pro Non-Retina. This drive works perfectly, and as intended. The only caveat is that it does not work with Non-Retina and Non-Air MacBooks. It's made solely for MacBooks that doe not include an optical drive. If you own a MacBook Air, or Retina Pro buy it. If not, skip it.

I needed to rip an MOD DVD using Handbrake, so this drive along with HB were a dream team. Files ripped quickly with no issues. I have not tried it on blu-rays or CDs yet, but I'm guessing they will play/rip fine. This cost just a little more than the other drives and it was well worth the upgrade! Can't wait to really put this bad boy thru the ringer.

A must have for Apple macbook air users. Works great and nice and compact doesn't feel cheap either.

I decided I wanted to have a way to listen to CD's through my Mac Mini. Probably could have paid less for something else but I wanted the SuperDrive.
