    The only flaw with the new Apple computer is that there is no dvd . So the external unit is needed.

    The first one kept ejecting the DVD..replaced at Best Buy. No problems with the second super drive.

    Many people don't use cd's anymore. But when you do, you'll need this cd drive from Apple. It's a great product.

    shouldnt need to buy one of these for a mac mini, but as apple has removed them from the 2012 / 13 models. what can ya do. come on apple, put the optical drive back in the mini's or lower the price of the super drive.

    Not sure I like having to hook it into my laptop when I need to use a disk. Also confusing on how to eject the disk. Have had to google it and still can't remember. It works well though, no problems other then that.

    I bought this for my MacBook Pro as it doesn't have a built in one. It works great. You do, however, need a USB-C to USB adapter to connect to the computer or you won't get power.
