    This is a great project for not having an internal hard drive. It would be nice to have some sort of carrying sleeve to protect it when I need to burn cds on the go.

    This was purchased with a MacBook Pro for our daughter since the newest laptops no longer have a built in drive and she still wants to be able to play CDs and DVDs. What Apple fails to make clear is that this drive is NOT compatible with the new MacBooks and no one selling them seems to be aware of this sad fact. We had to spend time with geek squad to troubleshoot. We returned it and bought an LG brand drive that worked perfectly at half the price. I gave this 2 stars even though for me personally, it gets only 1 because if there actually is an Apple product that it is compatible with this drive, it probably works great.

    It does what I wanted it to do. It was just a little confusing to use. Not sure if I know exactly how to use all the Functions yet. I wish it came with better instructions

    It does the job of reading and playing both CD's and DVD's and MP3's But Again WISH MAC would have left the disk drive for DVD and MP3 on the MAC Pro itself. Without them it is very inconvenient to have to A) spend more money, B) keep track of little add on's, C) Keeping everything plugged in and stable to be able to use, that is now hanging by wires off of the MAC. Very inefficient and awkward. Would only recommend if you are unable to get MAC without disk drive.
