    Great deal... I am just not too happy that I now have to carry around an extra piece of equipment . But I guess beats taking the whole laptop in for repairs if it breaks.

    The only reason this does not get 5 stars is cause it should have come built into the laptop... I would only recommend it to a friend because it is necessity to install software.

    It does the job of reading and playing both CD's and DVD's and MP3's But Again WISH MAC would have left the disk drive for DVD and MP3 on the MAC Pro itself. Without them it is very inconvenient to have to A) spend more money, B) keep track of little add on's, C) Keeping everything plugged in and stable to be able to use, that is now hanging by wires off of the MAC. Very inefficient and awkward. Would only recommend if you are unable to get MAC without disk drive.

    After market brand ones will be cheaper but this is a nice option. Offers region changing for up to 5 times before locking in.
