Since laptops rarely come with any disc drives anymore it was a great addition. Since I had disc with pics on them I needed to transfer to a USB drive.

APPLE USB SUPERDRIVE

When I bought TURBOTAX, I found out I needed a CD-ROM drive to activate the program (yes, I know I could just go to the TURBOTAX website and do my taxes there...but I have security concerns). Instead, I bought the APPLE USB Super Drive. It does exactly what I want it to do. It plays DVDs, also. Highly recommended!

Portable, functional unit - perfect!

It is all of those things - I successfully burned a DVD the first time I used it and have played CDs and DVDs with no issue. This is a very fairly priced and high quality drive for use with laptops w/o drives. Perfect for my needs with work and travel --

Super Drive

I was disappointed in the MacBook Pro's lack of this device integrated within; but now, because I just would not have used that feature frequently anyway, find the Super Drive to be useful only when I need it. And the fact that I don't always lug it around means that my MacBook Pro is lighter.
