At times, you realize that cd’s are still needed. Everything is available if you just do your research. Removing the cd-rom I thought was an error, at first…then it worked out for me!

I could have chosen a non apple drive but since i have a mac it just make sense for me to have an apple for an external superdrive. It just gives you a sense of peace knowing that you have compatible hardware and not worry that they wont work. If that makes sense.

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i like that you insert the discs rather than opening and closing a tray—sturdier feel. it’s quiet and sleek. i have not tried to burn anything yet but i think it will be easy to figure out. i tried to use one with a usb type a but i did not have enough usb slots on my mac mini so landed up paying the higher price

easy to connect to your Mac AIr or Mac PRO

The Apple-SuperDrive 8x external USB drive fills the gap. It is plug an play, which means all you need to do is unpack, and connect. your mac system immediately recognizes it and will be able to read/write to your DVD/CD

Took it back and got the one made for my Mac. It was so easy to use. Just plug in and play without having to download any other programs. Only downside is that it seems to be slow taking in the DVD. I would recommend it to anyone with a Mac.

Now required to upload anything into an IMac.

Older IMac's had a slot in the side of the computer for CD's and DVD's, which was a really nice feature. The newer computers from Apple don't have a slot, thus the necessity for the external hard drive. That being said, this product is excellent and serves my needs exactly. It is what I have come to expect from Apple, and it delivers.
