I wish Apple still built drives inside their Macs, but since they don't this is now your option. You can get other drives for a few dollars cheaper, but I always buy a single brand because I know all the components will work together perfectly. It is portable, which is one advantage.

This has s ompact size and very easy to use. Simply plug it up and you're ready to go.

Since computers aren't coming with drives anymore, unfortunately there are occasions you still need one. Hated to spend the money for something infrequently used but also hate the inconvenience of not having one available when needed. So I bit the bullet and purchased this great drive for my MacBook Pro and glad I did! Works like a charm.

Easy setup, plu and play. Easy to use. Small size, doesn't take much space

Bought a Memorex brand and could not get it to work on my Mac computer. Took it back and got the one made for my Mac. It was so easy to use. Just plug in and play without having to download any other programs. Only downside is that it seems to be slow taking in the DVD. I would recommend it to anyone with a Mac.

The Apple DVDRW drive was considerably more expensive than other similar drive and unlike a competitive drive that didn’t work with my MacBook Air the Apple drive could most of the DVD’s I burned ten years ago on a HP desktop.

Works right out of the box. I'm glad I decided to choose Apple products rather than taking a chance on other products. My decision was based on reviews placed on Amazon and I was forewarned about Ebay non-Apple drives how they would not work, or work for a while and stopped. I feel great about the decision I made. YOU CAN NEVER GO WRONG CHOOSING APPLE PRODUCTS. I got mine at Best Buy on Sale!

The drive has a good design and looks nice. Works fine for reading CDs. But, it is a little expensive for a CD drive.

I bought this peripheral for my new IMac desktop because it is now required. Older IMac's had a slot in the side of the computer for CD's and DVD's, which was a really nice feature. The newer computers from Apple don't have a slot, thus the necessity for the external hard drive. That being said, this product is excellent and serves my needs exactly. It is what I have come to expect from Apple, and it delivers.

I bought this because with my new macbook air if i wanted to burn CD's or listen to one this is what i wanted to use and it works well.Apple person who helped me told me [as you would expect] that you can use any kind of drive but.. it will not be the same as my old macbook with built in drive i do miss that but the air macbook is so light in weight i can deal when using this.
