    Do your homework as to whether this will work with your MacBook and DO NOT rely on anyone at Best Buy as a resource. No where on the packaging does it say it will NOT work with a MacBook that has a built in drive. My internal DVD drive quit working, so I asked a Best Buy computer person if it would work and was ASSURED it would work. Read the packaging and appeared perfect. Until I plugged it in. Nope. MacBook will not recognize it. Only way to get it to work is to hack some OS code and sorry, not going to do that! Had to make another half hour drive to return it.

    Problem was that no instructions came with it. I tried to add it on Mac desktop, couldn't get it to work. Same results with my Windows laptop. I had packed it up to return to store when I decided to check drive on youtube. I got full instructions on youtube

    Sadly a MacBook pro does not have an internal did so I had to buy the one. It is what it is. Just a drag to have to use up a port to connect and have a separate component to deal with. This is not a fault of this product it is a fault of the MacBook pro.

    terrible- disk stuck after only a few months of use- not worth paying to have disk removed- this device has no pin hole for a paper clip or pen to remove it, only suggestions using computer built in techniques none of which will work- not worth the price or the hassle later for leaving out a critical option
