Didn't do enough research on this one. I'm sure it will be a fine drive, but probably would not have purchased the APPLE version if I had known that it would not read Blu-Ray discs. Would have purchased one of the aftermarket brands

I needed an external dvd drive and purchased this drive. Worked perfectly!

I thought this three years ago thinking it's an Apple product your last several years, but as of about 10 minutes ago it stopped working. Guess it's time to switch to LG

The only thing that I can say negative about this drive is that it is not Blu-ray compatible. Today Blu-ray is becoming the standard so why is not Apple not onboard with their drives?

I was told I can play ,download and burn on this drive. that it was easy to use... not the case... have had this product for a while now and got quite impatient trying to figure this out.

It does challenge us and requires lot of disconnect and connect for it to work. Definitely not worth for the price. May have cheaper and better options.

I bought this Apple SuperDrive for my iMac so I could burn CDs and DVDs for my business. It works well; however, I was hoping there would be more options for burn speed. When burning DVDs, I could only choose 3x, 4x, or 6x.

This is kind of a strange product from Apple. It works on some devises (computers) but doesn't work on others. And it is difficult to get data on this from Apple unless you really hunt through their website. So buyer beware! Besides that it is overpriced. When I returned this drive to my local Best Buy store, they told me that a number of customers were returning this item for the same reason that I was. Go figure...

I bought this for my wife who has a Mac book and she had trouble using it, I have no idea how to use this.

Simple and easy to use. No set-up problems and works just as expected.

This is an Apple product, so you pay for the name. I expected it to sync directly to my MacPro laptop. It did not. Nothing on the box nor by sellers to indicate additional connections were necessary for it to work. It is not self-powered and you have to buy an additional means to connect it to your laptop to get it to work. I had to make 3 trips back to the Geek Squad for them to figure out this problem. Disappointed in Apple on this one!

The drive was extremely easy to install and it works effortlessly.

Its apple so it isnt cheap but the worst issue is this will not even work properly with usb-c macbooks over an adapter. The two adapters I tried both would not power up the dvd drive.

Have not tried all the features on this drive yet, and it's been hard to figure out how to burn a copy of some discs I have, but that is probably software not hardware. Drive itself works just fine.

This is a great DVD drive, but when considering you can get a blu-ray drive that will read and write, for the same money or less, it is not the best value. Although so far it has been extremely reliable, and looks very good.

Bought this for my daughter to add to her Mac Pro, but it was not easy to establish and she has had difficulties keeping it running. Has been able to use it, just with difficulty. Not aware of any better option.

Never got to try it out because my new MacBook wouldn’t recognize it once I plugged it in. Returned it for the LG drive and my MacBook recognized it as soon as I plugged it in.
