    It takes a bit of getting use to not have the cd/dvd drive but it make for a lighter computer.

    Had to go with apple super drive due to non apple drives would work with new MacBook. Geek Squad couldn’t get other drives to be recognized. Other drives worked just fine with 2011 MacBook Pro. Apple super drive is extremely slow on reading and writing.

    I specifically asked if this was as simple as plugging in the USB and popping in a DVD. I was told yes. I asked if anything had to be installed or downloaded. I was told no. I have been unable to watch a DVD on this because when I plug into the USB it doesn't play. No screen pops up and I am unable to use this product S I had hoped.

    Piece of trash. Doesn't work with my fully updated MacBook Pro running Big Sur. It has been in the box, sealed and unopened since I bought it. Have an extremely important PET/CT disk I need to look at and the drive is not even recognized by my MacBook Pro. Called Apple Tech Support and spoke to a Senior Advisor. He says the SuperDrive isn't working as it should and needs to be repaired. I am LIVID..

    Not doing a great job so far. One of three attempts produced a cd, the other two failed after several minutes of who knows what, just spinning out. I can't imagine trying to burn a DVD.
