Sometimes the DVD player is a bit laggy when streaming to another device like a TV, but otherwise a great product.

Had trouble with this drive the first time I used it. It would not eject the DVD. Tech support was helpful. Haven't had a chance to try it since.

Why doesn't Apple get with the program and start making BluRay compatible drives? All that development on high res retina screens and you can't even watch a BluRay? Dumb and annoying.

Insanely slow, then will creep a little faster,but still at a snails pace. My old iMac with the onboard drive was the high speed champ compared to this being so slow.

Purchased this in October. Stopped working after a few uses. Best Buy does not do warranty exchanges on Apple products so had to go to Apple Store. They exchanged it but that one stopped working after two uses. Had to force quit and restart to get the disc out. Going back to Apple Store again, but bought a different brand and it works flawlessly. I am a diehard Apple fan but this one product is not recommended.

I had one before...Apple external hard drive. I loved it until it died.

I brought the unit based on a Best Buy associate telling me it was blu-ray compatible. It is not. I returned the unit. Please note this drive is not blu-ray compatible

I am sure this a great product but pricing is just too high in my opinion. Returned it for a lower end drive since my use of it will be minimal.

the superdrive worked fine, but I don't think it's worth the price apple is charging for it so I returned it

I have other external drives that work just fine, however, this is the only 1 that I could find that works with apple products. Paying for the name!

This external disk drive is very necessary as an add-on to my MAC.

If you are looking into getting a laptop, and paying separate for this. Don't bother you might as well buy the laptop that has it already, and save your self the time, and money.

I bought a new MacBook Pro and was told by the sales person that this external hard drive would work for it. Well, it doesn't. Its connection port doesn't match the NEW MacBook Pro. I've used this External Hard Drive with older versions that it matches and it's a very good product. Don't know about its future with the, now, HUGE port necessity. Needs a re-design or an adaptor to go WITH it.

Purchased to use with a MacBook Pro The SuperDrive only has an adapter for a usb port not a usb c port You would think that going from Apple to Apple you wouldn’t need an adapter After hooking up cd player I received an error message that I didn’t have sufficient power

The Superdrive would not connect to my MacBook Air and Apple replaced it with a new one. Recommend making sure your Superdrive works on your computer or laptop after purchasing and not just assuming that it will work.

I understand Covid 19 has made shopping difficult. I asked before I bought product if it was plug and play and even scheduled tech support. When I got to store, I was rushed out, and told I did not have an appointment. Product was NOT plug and play, disc got stuck had to go on youtube to get disk out. Here's the best part, returned and was never given full refund. Best Buy. Bye bye.

Highly recommend. I can watch DVD's while surfing online.

This unit was for a Mac system. After reading the return policy to get one for a windows system there was going to be a $45 restocking fee. I bought a unit elsewhere to work with my system.

I burn video's with this super drive. Works very well.

Good ideal to put cd’s on the laptop but didn’t last long . It disconnected and reconnect since day one .
