This super driver is very slin, powerfully, easy to use .

The Apple DVDRW drive was considerably more expensive than other similar drive and unlike a competitive drive that didn’t work with my MacBook Air the Apple drive could most of the DVD’s I burned ten years ago on a HP desktop.

The SuperDrive is a classic. The ease with which it is powered by simply plugging into a usb port couldn't be easier. The simplicity of use is so straightforward, simply insert a disk and it does the rest. Ejecting a disk is easy as well. Overall a great piece of hardware. Well done Apple.

Apple removed the DVD/CD drive from all there MacBooks to make them thinner and lighter. At first I thought I would miss it but realized I hardly ever use it any more. So why carry the extra weight and bulk. For those rare occasions when I do need a drive this one is Apple quality and super fast with USB 3.0

Awesome drive. Purchased after purchasing Apples computer and didn't realize a drive wasn't present. My option was this and it was the perfect option. Easy to use, fast, and efficient. I would recommend this product to anyone. All my apple products now work together seamlessly. If you find yourself in my predicament then this drive is for you and move on with frustration of not having a drive.

I wound up going with this because it is an Apple product. I was a bit disappointed with how flimsy it felt when I pulled it out of the box. It certainly doesn't feel like it should cost as much as it does. But it is compatible with my iMac and it works as it's supposed to. Only other thing I'll point out is that it's a little on the loud side when playing a disc. I kept it to avoid the hassle of going back to the store to return it. There are other options that cost less and are just as good.

I bought this product because my new Mac does not have an internal CD-ROM drive. I use it to burn my CDs from my iTune collections in my Mac so I can listen in my car. I am still figuring out how to show track number and title/artist of the songs properly with the CDs burned by this product - so far the results are inconsistent. The internal CD-ROM drive of my old Mac had no problem - every track shows correct numbers, titles, and artist each time. Quess that external drives must work somewhat differently. Otherwise it's a good product for other intended purposes.

I was hesitant to purchase after reading the previous reviews, but ultimately decided to since I am a Mac lover and not very patient, especially sorting out compatibility issues. I have so far only used it to read disks and have had absolutely no problem including ejecting of disks. It is compact and appears well made like other Mac products.

I bought this drive for the newer iMac desk computer which doesn't have an on-board optical drive, but it will also work with MacBooks that don't have on-board drives such as the Air. It's light, compact and requires no installation, (Plug and play). Construction is sturdy, and the mechanism that draws in and ejects the disc feels strong. I've only had a few weeks, so i can't speak to longevity.

I bought a new MacBook Pro and wanted to be able to read a CD if necessary, the price for this item at Best Buy was great and it works just that way, GREAT I had to purchase a usb C to usb cable so my Mac could see the CD player and it works like a charm
