Bought this because I create large digital artwork files. I don't think I'll ever fill it. Plug and use simplicity I expect from Apple products.

A nice extra to allow you to play DVDs/CDs through the included cord which connects to your Macbook Air. The drive is quiet and seems very sturdy, which is nice for traveling purposes.

The Apple Superdrive 8x ExternalUSB Disc drive is a top of the line, state of the art piece of technological wizardry. It has lightening speed when importing music and video. Excellent product!!!

The external superdrive is great for those items that can't be downloaded via the internet. It is slim and can easily be stored in a desk drawer when not needed. Fast read/write time.

Very easy to use. My iMac and iTunes basically do everything for me to play, burn, and copy files. Would recommend this product to anyone.

A little pricey but if you are old school and still burn music and make mixed CDs its an easy decision...buy!!

Works great anyone can figure it out. It is light and portable though it would be even better if it was part of the computer instead of having it be an external device.

While it does not have a lot of multi-functionality, this drive definitely does what it needs to do and has a highly compact design. Worth the purchase if looking for something compatible with a Mac mini or laptop.

I have a massive CD collection that I have loaded into ITUNES, now that I have a MacBook Pro, I needed this to be able to load new CDs into ITunes.

It's pricey but as with all Apple products simple in form and it just works. Doesn't need external power just plug it into your USB port and start using.

I love this SuperDrive to import all my old CDs into iTunes. It's so easy! It's automatic. BUT.... While this SuperDrive can play DVDs on my MacBook Pro, it will not let it stream it to my TV with Apple TV. With that said, I am not sure if it's worth $79.

It is so easy to use, plug in and use. There is no special software needed or technical skills to eject a disk, just right click and use the options.

Typical Apple quality ..which means excellent . Plays DVDs flawlessly and writes CDs with music well. I have not tried or had a use to try the DVD writer at this point. I wish they had made the USB cord a little longer but it is OK. I was not happy that recent Apple products have deleted the optical drive but that is the way technology goes I guess. Time moves on. It is a good unit . I just hate using a USB port to use it.

I have a brand new MacBook Air and I need this super drive bad. It works great. I still buy CD so this was a must for me. Worth the price to me.

I'm one of the few people left who have to rip and burn CDs for work, so this is a handy little guy that has given me no problems.
